is a recess in the chimney breast of the front room of a 1930's terrace.

Originally featuring a mirrored back and glass shelves, the recess had been used to display the previous owner's collection of stuffed birds.

The current programme of exhibitions offers artists the opportunity to make work for an unapologetically domestic environment; the only prerequisite being that the work must fit or be attached only within the recess itself. Each artist is asked to produce a text to accompany the preceding show to their own.
